We Indians speak good and clear english.. too general .. esp me , i talk clear and fairly good english, but my english isn’t stylish. I never tried to make it stylish, I just make sure that my talk is clear to the listener.

If it was back in India, it wouldn’t matter as everyone spoke in normal english except some people, the so called “NRI’s” or who want to show off their english “accent” . But some people have a natural stylish accent and thats by practice(maybe influenced by movies, tv shows ..etc..) . By the way its very easy to distinguish between a natural and fake “english style” of speaking.

Frankly speaking ,we Indians cannot fake that US accent, its not at all possibl… its just not possible..it looks so unnatural..( apart from some exceptions , which i told before, who have developed a natural stylish accent- not US accent , but their own stylish accent). When you cannot fake it, don’t try it !!

You all people must be thinking why the hell did this topic start off .. I am tired of people faking the US accent and it feels so awkward … it really irritates a lot. In our college we have lots of desis , esp in CS dept. Some people try to show off with their fake accent and it irritates everybody . When you can clearly communicate the things to the other guy using normal english, why try hard to fake the accent ?, its not necessary right ! Even with an Indian prof , people try to put the fake accent, I could not control myself from laughing at that situation.

No offence ! I am not saying that your english should be stylish , but it should not seem like a fake accent. Why copy, have your own stylish English accent, nobody bothers, but when you try to fake it, it really irritates the person who is listening.

I have other people talking about our fake US accent, once in the college they were saying -” Why these Indians try to fake that accent when they cannot, can’t they speak normally !” , I was sitting right next to them and one of them tried to stop the person who told this and they stopped the talk .. Its not once or twice , I have heard this statement and other forms of this statement n number of times .. !!!

Am i talking crap or is it true .. Am I the only person who feels like this ..or you felt it too !!
