The Dewarists – If You Love Music, You Will Adore this TV Show

You will be blown off by the exemplary music on this TV show – The Dewarists. Am always on the lookout for music which sounds really different and that search made me watch and follow this TV show. Being a great fan of Coke Studio I really enjoy fusion music. Its not to compare two different TV shows, but the quality of this show – The Dewarists is truly exceptional similar to Coke Studio.

Apart from following individual folk rock, fusion and rock bands, I do keep searching for jamming sessions of different artistes. When Coke Studio @ MTV was launched in India, it was a great excitement to see some exceptional music again, but was slightly disappointed. Coke Studio @ MTV didn’t have that rawness you try to find in a jamming/fusion of artistes – atleast, I didn’t find that quality.

The Dewarists” – its just blows you off by the creativity filled music. It might not be the first of its kind in the area of jamming artistes from different genre of music, but they have done it differently and yes its one of the best ! The special thing is, it has a documentary style of narration, travelling around and how the music evolves with the artists and that keeps it different from the other shows. Amazing mix of languages ranging from hindi, english, kannada, dari, rajasthani, punjabi, and more. You will find folk rock, rajasthani folk, rapping and many variety of sounds. The songs are such that, you just keep listening to them again and again and again….The host of the show Monica Dogra has really done a nice job in presenting, really classy. Soothing music is one of the primary characteristic of this show.

With theme song of the show by Raghu Dixit, the name that sounds “The Do-er-ists”, the people who actually do and of course the caption – “somethings are really worth doing”, it separates itself from others and stands apart !

Artists on the show - Imogen Heap, Vishal-Shekhar, Zeb and Haniya, Shantanu Moitra, Swanand Kirkire, Indian Ocean, Mohit Chauhan, Parikrama, Agnee, Shilpa Rao, Shri, Monica Dogra, Rajasthan Roots, Papon, Rabbi Shergill, Shubha Mudgal, Swarathma, Midival Punditz, Karsh Kale, Baiju Dharmajan Hari Govind, Raghu Dixit and Rewben Mashangva, Monica Dogra..

Feel the contrast, taste the vibes of deviant music. Everybody who loves music, its a must watch – “The Dewarists” !
