Happy Engineer’s Day
Its a great honor to be an engineer. Today is the 148th birthday of Sir M.V (Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya). A recipient of Bharat Ratna, an eminent engineer and a great stateman. To honour him and his remarkable contribution to enigneering we celebrate Sept 15th(Sir M.V’s birthday) as Engineer’s Day.
Happy Teacher’s Day
World Teacher’s Day is celebrated on October 5th, whereas in India, we celebrate Teacher’s day on Sept 5th dedicating the day to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (on his birthday) India’s second President who was a great teacher and a philosopher.
A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others. I had the opportunity to learn under some great teachers during my school & college days. On this day I want to thank all my teachers for all their guidance and help and especially to one great teacher who who made my life !
Google had their own unique style as usual to celebrate Teacher’s Day( http://www.google.co.in)
News:Regulation Extending Maximum OPT Period Under Consideration

We can say it as a good news and as well as not good. I hadn’t analyzed it the other way until Vishu told me.the time when i wrote didn’t make sense , editing it..

There are many conditions for this to be applicable to F1 students. Actual purpose of this is , if a person has graduated at a wrong time and the company is not able to apply for H1B, in that case the OPT is extended. In this context the student has added advantage, as OPT is extended and the money earned during the OPT is not taxed.. so you will save a lot….
So, now you can graduate at any time and be tension free of the H1B , as long as some company is ready to apply for your H1B.
So, maybe there is no catch in here as far as I can see.. but donna.. these US rules always come with a catch ..
njoy your OPT !
